Other Barnyard Pets
Current other barnyard pets include 2 (giant) Pot-bellied Pigs. Their names
are Winston and Mimi. Winston is 15 years old. Mimi is about 5 years old.
Mimi is about double the size of Winston. We got Winston when he was 9
wks. old and he was raised in the house.

Bought as a companion for
Winston. She was the runt, but
somehow grew and grew.
She was actually named after
Mimi from the Drew Carey Show.

Named after Winston Churchill, who
said "I like pigs. Dogs look up to us.
Cats look down on us. But, pigs treat
us as equals".

****IN MEMORY ****
Winston died at age 15 on 5/23/05. He knew every pet we
ever had, was very loveable, and will be sorely missed. He
loved snacks and would always lift his head up to give
"mommy" a kiss. He loved being scratched on his side,
where he would plop over on the ground, wanting more! He
never gave us an ounce of trouble.
Mimi as....Jabba the Hutt
We have 2 Canadian Geese; one male and one female. Their joint name is
"Geezer". They have free run of the pygmy goat pen. No baby geese yet.
We have 7 guineas. Their joint name is "Guinea" (surprised?) We believe they are
all females. They have their morning jaunts around the property and down the
driveway; that is, until we put up some guard owls to keep them from going down
the driveway to the highway (and continually setting off the driveway alarm). So far
the owls have worked. They are a monkey-see, monkey-do sort of fowl. If one
jumps off a cliff, the others will follow! Not a whole lot of intelligence here.
Don't know where the the rest are....must have already jumped off the cliff.
We have babies!!!!!
The guineas have been laying on eggs and
5 hatched on June 2. They follow all the
other guineas around in their daily
activities. But, I never see them napping!
They are so tiny!

These babies only survived a week.
The mortality rate is very high in
unprotected areas.
